Job Description
The Project Accountant will help lead day-to-day accounting activities for the Exus client basis. They will be responsible for reviewing financial transactions and account statements, reconciling accounts receivable, managing accounts payable, and resolving bank discrepancies. They will write accurate financial reports to discuss with the senior management, respond to the team's inquiries and concerns, and strategize to improve financial processes.
This is a in-office role, located in Pittsburgh, PA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the management of day-to-day accounting activities to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal policies, and external audit.
- Partner with manager on and own monthly/quarterly management financial and metric reporting and monthly variance analysis.
- Develop internal policies, processes and procedures that are appropriately tailored to be effective and efficient in our company environment. You will drive process improvement and automation efforts to streamline accounting operations.
- Complete the accounting month-end/year-end close process.
- Partner with the accounting team leadership to construct month end close cycle cadence to ensure complete and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and manage all journal entries and account reconciliations as part of the general ledger month-end process.
- In conjunction with the project, construction and asset management teams, prepare internal budgets and forecasts for each project.
- Complete other duties as assigned with the accounting and finance team.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of public accounting or private industry experience required.
- Solid technical knowledge of US GAAP.
- Strong proficiency in accounting and financial principles, regulations, and best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Wind and/or solar energy project development, renewable energy industry and partnership experience helpful though not required.
