Asset Manager

Exus is seeking an Asset Manager. The Asset Manager has the overall responsibility to manage a fleet of Wind & Solar plants, including but not limited to commercial, budgeting, contractual compliance, and overall project management.

This is a demanding, fast-paced position that will require the successful candidate to be a self-starter, a true professional, and to take ownership of the position from day one.  The reward will be to participate and grow as an important member of a well-financed, high growth renewable energy/ asset management company with an experienced management team.  Please note, this role is fully in-office.

 

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to:

Asset Management

  • Be the main point of contact for investors and project equity partners.
  • Project manage all aspects of the portfolio.
  • Interact with proper internal and external teams to:
  • Maximize profit of the portfolio.
  • Optimize the performance of the portfolio.
  • Ensure compliance with all aspects of the portfolio.
  • Oversee and timely delivery of appropriate reporting as required by project financing and compliance entities.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive commercial awareness of projects and driving the asset to achieve superior financial performance on behalf of the investors.
  • With help of site managers and O&M providers, be involved in day-to-day decisions of project operations.
  • Develop and maintain a strong sense of project’s profit and loss statements and budget variance and being able to clearly communicate the drivers behind project financial performance.
  • Assess project risks and ensuring appropriate risk mitigations are put in place to protect from adverse situations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the financial performance or risk profile of assets and develop a plan and execute on those opportunities.
  • Support/oversee/develop as needed, any Asset Management / Operations reporting activities including, monthly project reports, quarterly reports, compliance reports and other reporting activities as required.

Contract Management & Optimization

  • Provide contract management services for key commercial contracts (such as O&M contract, PPA, Interconnection Agreement, LLCA, Land Leases etc.) for the portfolio, including contractual compliance by respective parties, negotiating new contracts and amendments, handling contract questions or disputes, and interfacing with contract counterparties as required.
  • Manage the on-going contract compliance obligations in the company'sProject Agreement ComplianceTracker. Ensuring that compliance task owners perform periodic updates, compliance assessments and compliance implementation.
  • Providing business services for portfolio including interfacing with insurance, tax, legal, accounts payable, IT, etc. as needed.
  • In conjunction with Commercial department, understand any ISO market rules and the impacts on the assets and assessing new or changing market design regulations.
  • If required, in conjunction with site personnel and other internal teams, manage the NERC compliance requirements of the project, including any regular filing.
  • Interact with Asset Optimization, Commercial, and accounting groups to drive continuous improvements from technical and financial perspectives.

Other Support

  • Provide leadership and project management services to ensure that opportunities and risk mitigation strategies are executed effectively.
  • Support other special projects designed to produce continuous improvement in the Asset Management Group or OperationsGroup.

  • Minimize operating costs of the portfolio.
  • Achieve full project compliance from all aspects.
  • Achieve full customer/investor satisfaction.
  • Deliver all reports accurately and on time.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or a related field is required.
  • Candidate must have at least five years’ experience in asset management of energy assets, renewable assets experience preferred.
  • Must possess strength in the following:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivatedand ability to work with little supervision or guidance.
  • Strong learning skillsand the ability to independently research, understand, and implement knowledge in new areas.
  • Ability to work seamlessly across a wide range of disciplines both within and outside the company to achieve project objectives.
  • Ability to read, understand and implement legal contracts.
  • Ability to understand technical operational matters and translate them to commercial and financial analyses and decision making.
