Michael Speerschneider joins Exus as a partner to lead the development effort

Speerschneider most recently served as Senior Director, Permitting Policy and Environmental Affairs at the American Wind Energy Association (“AWEA”) in Washington, DC.

PITTSBURGH (FEBRUARY 2, 2021) – Exus Management Partners today announced that Michael Speerschneider has joined the firm as a Partner in its North American office. Speerschneider most recently served as Senior Director, Permitting Policy and Environmental Affairs at the American Wind Energy Association (“AWEA”) in Washington, DC.

“We are pleased to have Mike join Exus as a Partner to lead our rapidly growing development function”, stated Jim Spencer, Managing Partner of Exus North America. “As more of our managed accounts seek investments in mid or late stage development projects, his role in leading this effort will be integral to Exus’ rapid growth. Throughout Mike’s career he has been at the forefront of permitting and development issues confronting the renewable energy industry. He is respected by the development community as well as by the federal and state agencies with which he has transacted over the years.”

Exus North America was established in 2018 in Pittsburgh by former executives of EverPower Wind Holdings and is a part of Exus Global. Exus Global has offices in eight countries and its worldwide headquarters is located in Madrid, Spain. Exus Global manages more than 5 GW of renewable energy assets. Exus North America now manages more than 2.5 GW of wind and solar assets in the US and Canada in various stages of development, construction and operation.
